I Heart Faces - Pet Entry

I really struggled on this entry.. I have the cutest puppy, but hopefully there will be another pet entry I just had to enter this image..The rules say it had to be a pet didn't say who's pet.. This is Mike VI from LSU.. he lives on campus and enjoys the good life, after visiting Mike two weeks ago I captured this image by luck... Peyton kept saying "It's a big Mario!" which cracked me up.. Peyton owns a male cat named Mario, he is full of life. I guess to a ten year old a tiger and a cat could be the same if you over look the size difference.. 365-Architecture

This is my assignment shot I figured since we were taking picture of architecture why not take this opportunity to remind people of the devistation of Hurricane Katrina. These shots are from my neighborhood. The collage below is from my neighborhood.. the upper left is my favorite image of rubble and the only thing standing is the mailbox irronic.. Upper right was the house next to my condo.. lower left was my street, and lower right was my nieghborhood's water tower you can see the base at the bottom of the image and the tower a good 50 feet away... Amazing how powerful a storm can be. Since Katrina I have moved 30 miles west irronically even closer to more devastation.. But this is my home and even though it has changed drastically it will always be home..

What I did...

First played with levels to get the contrast and color I wanted, then desaturated the image..
Next I stretched the canvas under transform
Then I added a photofilter a blue/green color
Then I added a frame with text.. Thus the final image

Told you I would catch up...
This was my favorite, but I didn't feel conifdent to enter it. So I decided to play with picnik to see what it could do to a photo...This was the final result... :)
This shot was one of many taken for I Heart Faces Peyton and I had fun in the chalk..

This shot is also from JumpStart National Team Training Camp.. I love this shot of the girls, a team coach was talking to them about expectations and I love the different expressions on each child... You can see what they are thinking...

WOW I am so far behind... It's meet season and I actually have this weekend off so hopefully I'll be able to catch up this weekend... This shot is a picture of one of the JumpStart National Team Coaches.. She is so funny, the kids love working with her because she is loud and very annimated... Her name is Joy and she rocks.. this photo was taken in a gym with poor lighting and no flash so the image could have been better, but given the circumstances it turned out pretty good..I think. I could be wrong...
